Can you briefly describe the Correia Association? How much money do they raise and where does it go?

Answer. The Correia Association is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit benefit corporation that was established in 1998 to provide volunteer support and raise capital to fund enrichments and enhancements for Correia Middle School curriculum.  The Association's budget is close to $40,000.

Can you briefly describe the School Site Council? What is the role and who are the members?

Answer. The School Site Council (SSC) was established by the California Department of Education as a vehicle by which the school community would come together to chart the school's path to improvement. The SSC was designated to represent all segments of the school community, with members including the principal, teachers, other school personnel, and parents. The SSC (because of its representative composition) is also the forum for many school-wide issues and concerns introduced by the principal, teachers, community members or parents. The SSC is composed of half parents/community members (non district employees), half school personnel (with teachers in the majority).

I am confused by all the testing and test results. Can you point me to some resources?

Answer. School test results can be confusing for parents. Here is a great reference for parents, see www.correiamiddle.com To see how Correia fared, see www.greatschools.net.

What can you tell me about Correia test scores and our school demographics?

Answer. You can learn more about Correia demographics including teacher experience, student ethnicity, student economic level and parent education level by selecting www.greatschools.net.. Another great resource is the School Accountability Report Card http://prod031.sandi.net
